Privacy Notice
Effective January 1, 2026
Better Health Matters, LLC (“BHM,” “we,” “us”) runs betterhealthmatters.org. This notice explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
What you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your first and last name, email address, organization (optional) and your message. If you email us directly, we receive what you include in that email.
Cookies and similar technologies. Our website platform, Wix, sets cookies that keep the site secure and working. With your consent, Wix also collects basic usage statistics, such as pages viewed, approximate location by country or region, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We use these statistics only to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
Technical logs. Like any web host, Wix automatically records standard server information such as IP address and request times for security and reliability.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, health information about yourself or anyone else. Please don’t include medical details, insurance identifiers or other protected health information in the contact form or in email.
How we use it
We use what you send to reply to you and to follow up on the conversation you started. We use usage statistics in aggregate to improve the site. We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently send newsletters or marketing email.
Who else is involved
Wix.com hosts the site, processes contact form submissions and provides site analytics, under its own privacy policy. Usercentrics provides the cookie consent banner and records your consent choice. Microsoft operates Bookings; if you use our “Book a time” link, you leave our site and Microsoft’s privacy statement applies to what you enter there. LinkedIn and other sites we link to have their own privacy practices, and we’re not responsible for them.
We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Your cookie choices
When you first visit, a banner asks for your consent. You can accept all cookies, deny non-essential cookies or choose by category, and your choice applies across the site. You can change it at any time using the privacy settings link on this page. Essential cookies can’t be turned off because the site won’t work without them.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of our correspondence, and generally no longer than two years unless a working relationship follows. Analytics data is retained according to Wix’s standard settings.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to messages is limited to BHM. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don’t send sensitive information through the site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to or restrict its use. Residents of certain U.S. states and visitors from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland have these rights by law; we extend them to everyone. To make a request, email us at the address below. We’ll respond within the time the law requires and won’t treat you differently for asking. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where EU or UK law applies, our basis for processing is your consent (for non-essential cookies) and our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and running a secure website. Wix may process data in the United States and other countries under its own transfer safeguards.
Children
This site is meant for professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has contacted us, let us know and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
